What materials can be used to make a sculpture?

Clay sculptures
Clay is possibly one of the materials sculptors have used for the longest time. In fact, clay is one of the easiest materials to mold, as it doesn't require special tools and just your hands are more than enough. Working with clay allows sculptors to achieve both highly polished works and those with the artist's own marks (from their fingers, for example), depending on how they work the material. Different types of clay are used: natural clay, red clay, ball clay, stoneware, etc.
Stone: one of the most durable materials
Like clay, stone is another material that sculptors have used for centuries. Why? Because this material is abundant in nature and offers great durability. The most commonly used types of stone are limestone, marble, sandstone, alabaster, granite, jade, and quartz. Softer stones are more difficult to achieve a very meticulous finish, as they can crumble. But, of course, a harder stone, such as granite, requires greater physical effort. Bronze, for example, is one of the most durable materials of all, but it's also the most difficult to work with. Wood is a material that, due to its physical properties, offers very good results, both in terms of design and durability.
